Rise, shine... and RUMBLE!
What started as a bet between two businessmen is now a bike-battleground for top St. Louis executives.
Rumble to the River is back! Dubbed "The Survival of the Fittest!", the competition has intensified...instead of two cyclists, we have nearly 14 elite athletes taking on the 60-mile course from Chesterfield Commons to the Gateway Arch...and back! Anything can happen as these competitors put pedal to pavement to raise money for St. Louis' children in need. Proceeds from this event will benefit seven different organizations:
- Boys Hope Girls Hope
- Chesterfield Kiwanis and D.A.R.E.
- Gilda's Club of St. Louis
- Our Little Haven
- The Ronald McDonald House of St. Louis
- Variety the Children's Charity of St. Louis
- Youth Technology and Education Center
Since the first racer crossed the finish line in 2003, Rumble to the River has raised more than $400,000 for children's organizations, and we expect this year's "Survival of the Fittest" to raise even more for St. Louis' children. Although the Rumble to the River race is not open to the public to ride, the massive following and support from fans and sponsors is the driving force behind the Rumble's evolution into one of the most anticipated bicycle races and fundraising events of the year. Now dubbed "Rumble Rally," the all-day event features four unique marquee events, with plenty of fun for everyone in the family. Of course, there's the Rumble to the River itself, plus the Rally in the Valley, where you can choose from a 9, 16 or 25-mile family bike ride through the Chesterfield Valley. The Rumble Run features a 5K Run and 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk, organized by Our Little Haven. And back again this year, the delicious Taste of the Valley, where fifteen Chesterfield restaurants showcase their cuisine and serve up big support for this year's events by donating 50% of proceeds to the Rumble Rally children's charities.
